Here are some tools & resources that I believe are valuable in any startup business arsenal:
(Most of the links below are services that I am a paid affiliate for. Should you decide to purchase a linked service, I will receive a commission at no extra charge to you but on behalf of the company referenced per link)
Hosting & Domain Services
BlueHost – BlueHost by far has one of the most simple setups. You can literally sign up and get your site up & running in minutes. This is my recommendation.
HostGator – Another leading name in hosting
Building Your Email List
Aweber – Acquiring a sizeable email list is fundamental in any online venture. Email communication is the best way to get up and personal to let your audience know about any updates you have to your blog or products.
SMS Text Messaging & Mobile Apps
GetUrBizMobile – Customers are on their mobiles 24/7 and your business needs to be there too. 92% of Text Messages are read compared to email. Mobile and text promotions lets you speak to your potential customers in a one –on-one manner that’s unmatched
Dropbox – Access your files from anywhere. You can also share folders with your friends and/or team members…for FREE!
Web & Graphic Design
StudioPress – An industry standard in framework & predesigned themes. StudioPress themes run on the Genesis framework, a framework optimized for search engine optimization (SEO), efficiency, speed, and security. You have to buy both the framework and the theme design. Think of a car in this context, Genesis is the auto body frame and your theme design is the car’s model & paint. I definitely noticed an increase in speed when I first switched to this framework & have used it to create multiple sites since then.
PicMonkey – is a super easy photo editing app. Users can add text, overlays, and filters to photos. There are also a few features that could be used in graphic creation. It’s super easy to use and I’m able to get my editing completed faster in PicMonkey than in Photoshop.
Graphicriver – Vast selection of affordable royalty free stock graphics.
Photodune – Incorporating great photos can really help your blog pop. Photodune by far is one of the MOST affordable royalty free stock photography services available online today.
Hernameiskim – This is the web designer who created my web header. Kimberly has excellent customer service and can give your blog a custom feel.
Mentoring & Training –
It’s your life, your business and you must invest in your knowledge & skillset in order to grow. Either way, you’re going to invest in your business, whether it be time or money spent. Working with a mentor can leap your business into new possibilities that otherwise may have taken years to progress to.
Internet Business Mastery Academy – I can’t tell you how THRILLED I am that I joined the IBM Academy! Jeremy & Jason have been teaching this class for over 8 years and I LOVE their podcast! One of their biggest success story students is 6 figure blogger, Pat Flynn. I have been conducting internet business for a few years now, but the lessons I have learned in this course and mastermind are invaluable and already saving me time. I wish I would’ve taken the course sooner. IBM Academy is a combination of course work, mentoring, and masterminding. No, I’m not rich, but I DO have a viable online business strategy that I am confident about. Stay tuned for my progress updates.
Podcast Training –
Podcasting is a great way to extend your audience and build a community. US Today wrote an interesting article about the rise of the podcast, to read it click here.
Internet Business Mastery Podcasting for Profits – Along with the Academy, IBM has a podcast training. Again, these guys have a proven track record in internet business training, so there’s not much more for me to say.
Pat Flynn also has a VERY good podcasting tutorial on YouTube.
